Travel, Books and More.

2022 Hasn’t gone as I had planned due to my health diagnosis back in July 2021 when I was over in Kosovo, something that has now prevented me from flying until I have a procedure to correct the problem.

That said, I can still travel just not by air (At least not long haul), for the time being, I can’t really complain though I have traveled far and wide over the years and sometimes I just say enough is enough, especially with those long haul flights.

I was over in Donegal only a couple of months ago and it was so nice to have a little break, I was over there researching more family heritage but here’s the thing.

I’m not nor have I ever been a fan of driving long trips or on roads I am unfamiliar with, so I booked the weekend break with https://www.caledoniantravel.com/ and I have to say it was the best way to go.

Not only was the ferry, hotel, food and two day trips included in the cost, there was free time for me to grab a taxi into Letterkenny twice to do some research. What more could you ask for? If I had taken my own car, paid the ferry, booked a hotel alone that would have cost more than the what it cost to go with Caledonian Tours. Win, win.

I highly recommend Caledonian Tours, very friendly drivers, extremely knowledgeable and nothing is a bother to them. They also have a multitude of day trips at affordable prices for family days out.

My next trip of course will be in September for the Mother & Baby Commemorations where I will be handing over the percentage of sales I promised year on year from the sale of my book Behind Closed Doors: The Baby Brokers available on Amazon around the world.

Belinda Conniss shares her research, stories and passion on a topic that many prefer remains “Behind Closed Doors.”
Conniss references personal stories shared with her along with her research on Mother Baby Homes in Ireland. Her empathy for the mothers and children that have suffered in these institutions is apparent in her writing. I believe her passion to help in the work needed to be done is greatly appreciated by many. Kudos!

I will also be donating the plaque I have had made in memory of all who passed away and suffered, the plaque will have the poem I had written on my very first visit to Sean Ross Abbey back in 2017.

I should have been going to Canada come October but my operation has yet to be scheduled so I have planned another visit to Wales, a place close to my heart. I will be uploading information and photos of both trips after the event, including a short video from Tipperary and I will also disclose the amount of money handed over in donations.

I have some trips planned in between which I will update later, I am pushing to have my forthcoming book (Royal Blood & Bastards) ready for publication between the end of the year and the start of 2023
